The Witching Hour | Ep. 7

What is The Witching Hour? Why do so many people seem to wake up around 3 AM? We dive into theories surrounding The Witching Hour aka The Devil's Hour, along with a few urban legends and prominent stories. We asked a question on Twitter if anyone had questions regarding The Witching Hour, and one response was wondering why so many people wake up at 3 am. We look at paranormal, historical, and scientific reasons for the disrupted slumber. Finally, we discuss and rate whether or not we find The Witching Hour believable. Are you familiar with the 27 Club?   It is an exclusive, yet tragic, group of ultra-talented artists that met their demise a little too soon. The obvious culprit appears to be suicide and drugs, however, is there a darker conspiracy at play?   This week, we look at a few theories, ranging from selling souls to lizard people, and discuss what could cause so many talented and famous stars to abruptly leave this world.   If you’re enjoying the content, please subscribe to Believing the Bizarre and give us a follow for more content at: https://ift.tt/3hdsySK https://ift.tt/2OJrEB6 https://twitter.com/believingbizarr from Believing the Bizarre: Paranormal Conspiracies & Myths https://ift.tt/2WF5VyJ

The Slender Man as a Tulpa

Image
Since we can pinpoint the exact origin of The Slender Man lore that took the internet by storm about 5-10 years ago, we can simply put a pin in it an call this urban legend unbelievable, right?  Maybe not.  We investigate the idea that with so many people putting thoughts and energy into The Slenderman is it possible that, like a Tulpa, The Slenderman could have become a conscious being.  This episode ends the launching day binge-a-thon of Believing the Bizarre.  Listen to Believing the Bizarre today.

What if something you believe to be true ended up being false? What if you have a distinct memory of an event occurring, yet you discover it never did? Could it be collective misremembering? Or could we be in a parallel universe? Today we tackle the theory of The Mandela Effect and look at some of the main examples, including: -Curious George having a tail vs. no tail -The Monopoly Guy having a monocle vs. no monocle -The Berenstein Bears vs. The Berenstain Bears -Nelson Mandela's death (1980s vs 2013) -Looney Toons vs. Looney Tunes -Sketchers vs. Skechers -C3PO all gold vs. having a silver shin -"Mirror, mirror on the wall" vs. "Magic mirror on the wall" -"Luke, I am your father" vs. "No, I am your father" Finally, we discuss if The Mandela Effect is more likely to be Earth living in a simulation, a human-caused new dimension due to CERN, or psychological theories such as groupthink and priming.
