The Lickford Bridge is known to be haunted by the Lickford man, a violent man who would torture and kill slaves and killed his own family and buried them under his porch.

They say (you getting the urban legend vibes here?) that if you stop your car on the bridge at night, you’ll see red fireflies signaling the Lickford Man is approaching. Meanwhile, handprints of the slaves will appear on your car and try pushing you off the bridge to safety and away from the man.
