We talk about TWO different stories this week! In September 1954 in Glasgow, hundreds of children armed with weapons descended upon the Southern Necropolis to hunt a rumored 7-foot vampire with iron teeth that had allegedly murdered two boys. The three-night hunt, though unsuccessful, sparked widespread hysteria that eventually led to public debate about the influence of American horror comics on young minds. Spring-heeled Jack, an entity in English folklore first sighted in 1837, terrified people across the United Kingdom with his frightful appearance, fiery eyes, clawed hands, and extraordinary leaping abilities. This popular Victorian urban legend, described as having a devil-like aspect and the ability to breathe flames, became the subject of numerous fictional works and spawned various theories about his true nature and identity.
