In this episode, we’ve got two listener submissions that both somehow involve grandmothers handing their family members something terrifying and then acting totally unbothered about it.

The first, 16-year-old Lindsay staying alone with her grieving great-grandma, grabbing a fireplace poker after hearing phantom footsteps from a kitchen that should have been empty, and then walking into the living room to find a tall black cloaked figure with beady inhuman eyes sitting completely still in her late great-grandfather’s chair.

Then we got into Samantha’s year-and-a-half ordeal with a Victorian porcelain doll her grandmother gave her for her birthday that started turning itself on the shelf, relocated from her bedroom to her bed while she was at school, gave her nightmares bad enough that she dreaded going to sleep, and eventually made a sound like porcelain scratching against the wall at 2am while she watched its head slowly turn toward her.
